Work The Ranch 

Hiring Immediately- Rudolph Ranch in scenic Black Hawk, Colorado is seeking a handy horseman or woman to take on some of the responsibilities around our boarding facility. This job is part-time with the potential to pick up more hours with construction and assorted maintenance tasks. There are two levels of job positions open.

 

#1 Barn Staff-  Basic daily feed, stall cleaning, and horse turnouts. 

#2 Assistant Manager - Daily tasks (same as #1) plus light managerial duties to include working with clients and their vet/farrier, assisting our Barn Manager with HR and maintenance duties. For the assistant manager position, the ability to drive a trailer is a plus. Tractor operation skills are appealing as well. 

 

Morning duties: 7-10 AM, feed horses, clean stalls, turn horses out for the day, clean and refill troughs and buckets, prepare soaked feed. A competent worker can accomplish all required tasks in 2 hours. Shift hours are flexible to your schedule needs but all horses must be fed by 9 AM. 

 

Evening duties: 5-7 PM, feed horses and bring horses in from turnout. Prepare soaked feed for the morning shift. A competent worker can accomplish all required tasks in 1 ½ hours. Shift hours are flexible to your schedule needs but all horses must be fed by 7 PM. 

 

Stall cleaning may be shifted from morning to evening depending on circumstances. Candidates must be able to lift 50-80 lbs for some tasks. The right candidate will demonstrate at least the basic to moderate knowledge of horse health and nutrition as well as excellent attention to detail paired with a strong work ethic. Flexibility in scheduling will be discussed during the job interview process.
